Wen Lixia has been counselor for eight years, mainly in charge of student management and the construction of the Communist Party of China and China Communist Youth League in JNU International Business School. Over the years, Wen has won many honors, including first prize in the 2011 Annual Session of Guangdong Provincial University Student Professional Committee; the first prize for Excellent Cases Studies of Student Affairs of Jinan University in 2014; Advanced Individual of Guangdong Provincial University Student Affairs in 2015. Last year, he won a Model Award as a Jinan University Excellent Undergraduate Counselor and a finalist for Guangdong Provincial University Counselor of 2016.

Wen shares many hobbies with students, which helps him make friends with them. He usually recommends popular American dramas to students, such as, 24 Hours and Grey's Anatomy. He holds that watching American dramas is not pursuit of fashion, but offers a window to understand the outside world so that we can share our understanding. Wen also often plays basketball with students.

To learn more about his students, Wen resorts to progressive methods, including "private talk." "Four words can be used to describe Mr. Wen," a senior majoring in advertising said, "Kind, polite, gentle and patient."

Wen thinks highly of innovation of management. Students in the International Business School applying for National Scholarship must take oral defense, which the class committee and other students may observe. In addition, he actively promotes the training of student leaders, part-time counselors and teacher's assistants.

Wen co-organizes an activity, called "complain in one sentence," with the student delegation of International Business School. Students may leave their complaint messages on the school's WeChat public account. In this way, the school has received many proposals from students.
