A 14-member delegation from Think Tanks in India (TTI) headed by Nalin Surie, India's ambassador to China, visited JNU on June 26. JNU President Hu Jun and leaders from related departments met with the delegation. TTI experts and scholars and JNU professors introduced their research fields and interests and said they hoped for further academic communication to promote teachers’ cooperation and student exchanges.

JNU has a close relationship with Indian colleges, universities and cultural organizations. It has signed cooperation agreements with Jawaharlal Nehru University, Mahatma Gandhi University and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Currently, 315 Indian students are studying at JNU, mainly enrolled in the M.B.B.S. (bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery) program started in the International School in 2005. Its achievements have been affirmed by the Chinese and Indian education departments.
