JNU held its 2017 graduation ceremonies on the Shipai, Zhuhai and Shenzhen campuses on June 29 and 30, honoring outstanding graduates and awarding degrees to over 7,000, including 3,856 undergraduates and 3,172 master's and Ph.D. candidates.

On behalf of the faculty，President Hu Jun sincerely extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates. "Dear students, you are the extraordinary generation in JNU, who witnessed the beginning of JNU's new campus, the soaring of high-level university construction and the glory of JNU's 110th-anniversary  celebration," he said, "Your support and participation play an indispensable part in our school development, and those memories and contributions will be engraved in the school history with their unique inflections."

Lin Shupeng , secretary of JNU's party committee, read out The Decision of Commending JNU 2017 Outstanding Graduates and other relevant certifications. Professors presented certificates of merit to those honored. Then, professors turned the tassels of trencher caps for graduates, who accepted their diplomas, and successfully concluding their campus life.

Representatives of both alumni and teachers expressed their wishes for the graduates.

This year, JNU's graduation ceremony included a graduation red carpet and graduation party.

"Graduation red carpet is the exploration and innovation of graduation ceremony," said Qu Xiangli, head of the Students' Affairs Office, "We hope that students can express their inner feelings for their alma mater via the ritual graduation red carpet and individually treasure the memory forever."
