A four-member delegation from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), headed by Vice President Lin Yuzhao, visited JNU on June 8. JNU Vice President Song Xianzhong met with the delegation, along with representatives of the Admissions Office and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.
Song expressed his appreciation of UNNC's success in Sino-foreign cooperation in education and introduced the development concept and plan for the Jinan University-University of Birmingham Joint Institute. Participants discussed their experiences in Sino-foreign cooperation in education. They made a preliminary proposal to start a League of British Universities to cooperate with China and share resources of the University of Nottingham, the University of Birmingham and others in the league.

Established in 2004, UNNC was the first Sino-foreign University approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education with independent legal qualification and campus. It is financed by Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, a key player in education in China. The University of Nottingham is in charge of teaching, and UNNC students will be offered its degree certificate. UNNC has three schools, in social science, humanistic education, and science and engineering schools, offering undergraduate through doctoral programs.
