JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng led a delegation to the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy from May 22 to 31. Topics discussed included international exchanges and cooperation in higher education, overseas Chinese development and transformation, forming overseas alumni associations, One Belt and One Road, and cooperation opportunities with overseas Chinese entrepreneurs.
The delegation visited world-renowned research institutes and higher education institutions, including the International Institute for Social History, Avans University of Applied Sciences and Utrecht University in the Netherlands and the University of Florence in Italy. Members met with Wu Ken, Chinese ambassador to the Netherlands, and and Wang Fuguo, Chinese consul general in Florence. The delegation extended regards to Yang Huyin, an overseas Chinese leader in the Netherlands and a member of JNU’s board of directors. It held conferences with renowned overseas Chinese representatives, scholars and the Wen Cheng Association in the Netherlands, the Benelux JNU alumni association, the JNU overseas Chinese youth entrepreneurs' workshop students and alumni representatives. Delegation members visited local Chinese language and culture education institutions, including the Confucius Institute at the University of Geneva, L'Ecole Chinoise de Geneve and Scuola di Lingua Cinese "Zhong Hua" in Rome to understand overseas Chinese language and culture education.
Lin was invited to speak at the 2017 Sino-European Chinese Entrepreneurs Summit held in Florence.
