To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Hong Kong to China, JNU held its 16th International Cultural Festival on the cultural square of the Panyu campus on May 21. Vice President Rao Min, Panyu campus leaders at all levels and nearly 3,000 JNU students attended. The theme was "Intangible Cultural Heritage," and activities including cultural exhibitions, small stage performances, the Southeast Asia Songkran Festival and the International Kitchen Competition displayed the intangible cultural heritage from various regions of five continents, highlighting JNU's mission of embracing all cultures.

Since its inception in 2002, the International Culture Festival has become one of the most popular events for students in JNU, being international, comprehensive and innovative.
