Jinan University signed a cooperation agreement to establish the Shunde Hospital Attached to Jinan University and the Jinan University Stomatological Hospital with the People's Government of Shunde, Guangdong Province, on May 8. At the signing ceremony at Jinan University were Ou Bangmin, secretary of the Shunde District Party Committee; Wang Yong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Shunde District; Wang Guang, secretary general of the Shunde District Party Committee and the Shunde Government; and JNU President Hu Jun, Vice President Ye Wencai and Vice President Hong An.

"The cooperation with JNU will attract diverse talents and resources promote medical and health services of the local hospitals," Ou said.

"According to the ESI Discipline Ranking, JNU’s disciplines in clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology are entering the world’s top 1 percent," said President Hu. "The cooperation, which helps achieve resource complementarity, will play an important role in promoting JNU's medical research and the training of high-quality clinical personnel."
