Scott Snyder, vice president of the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), led a four-member delegation to JNU on May 5, meeting with Vice President Hong An. The two sides discussed research and cooperation in biomedicine and joint training of students majoring in economics and finance.
They decided to launch joint training for postgraduates in economics, finance, public finance, and international economy and trade. The training mode is "1 +1 +1" which means JNU students spend one year at JNU and another at UNO; in the third they must complete a paper at JNU. UNO can adopt a "1 +1" mode. The two sides achieved mutual recognition of credits and seamless course docking. Other details, including scholarships for exchange students, were also discussed.
UNO is planning to send a jazz band to Chinese universities in September. Through various cultural and artistic exchanges, it will attract students to interact, deepen mutual understanding and promote academic cooperation. The two universities have also decided to send professors in biomechanics for docking and to sign a cooperation agreement to carry out substantive exchanges.
