Qian Meirong, president of Masion Chinoise d'Echanges Culturels (MCEC), together with a piano master, a modern dance master, a cello master and a ballet master, visited JNU in April. MCEC provides an exchange platform for high-end culture and art and plays a positive role in national strategic cooperation programs between China and France.

The artists gave public classes in dance, cello and piano for JNU art troupe students and other interested students on the Shipai and Panyu campuses on the afternoon of April 19.

The next evening, the artists performed a program of French music and opera titled "Night, Starry Sky" for JNU students and teachers. The program included music by Bach and Liszt and selections from Verdi's opera "La Traviata."
The activity was one of a series celebrating the 53rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. JNU Vice President Rao Min delivered an opening speech for the musical evening.
