Founded in 1997, the FLTRP Cup National English Debating Competition is sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the National Secretariat, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP). As China’s largest and highest-level competition in spoken English, it is held every year and follows the British parliamentary debating system. The South China Division is one of the largest competitions in the country. This year it attracted more than 110 college teams from 12 provinces, autonomous regions and special administrative regions.
