The seventh Huatai Futures Business Challenge, jointly organized by JNU's International Business School, the Student Activity Center and the Huatai Futures Co., Ltd., officially unfolded on April 13.

Liu Zhijiang, secretary of International Business School, thanked Huatai for its support of the business challenge and the joint training of JNU students. Liu said he hoped the two sides would improve the long-term cooperation mechanism to achieve resource complementarity and win-win cooperation.

Wen Junjie, assistant to president and manager of Huatai's brokerage department, said he hoped the business challenge would attract more talents and bring future leaders to the financial industry, thus contributing to the development of China’s financial market.

The business challenge was divided into three parts: lectures on basic knowledge of futures and options; a commodity futures trading simulation competition; and a futures and options knowledge competition. The first, second and third prize winners and the best trader were selected by calculating the total scores of the three parts, with lecture participation accounting for 30 points, online futures knowledge contest 30 points, and futures simulating trading account 40 points (taking into consideration the number of consecutive trading days, final interest and maximum retracement). The winning teams were asked to share their experiences of the competition during the awards ceremony.

Huatai also awarded 3,000 yuan to each of six excellent students from the International Business School who were active in the business challenge but in financial difficulty, for academic support and encouragement.

The International Business School and Huatai signed a strategic cooperation agreement in May 2016 to build a campus training base for financial derivatives talents and teach financial theory.
