Three International School graduates who majored in clinical medicine have passed the 2016 Licensing Examination of the Medical Council of Hong Kong, qualifying to practice medicine there.
They are Lin Fengnian, who graduated in the Class of 2001, Liu Shanmei, Class of 2005, and Xiang Jiayi, Class of 2008.
All medical graduates who wish to register as medical practitioners with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, except for graduates of the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, are required to pass the Council's licensing examination and successfully complete pre-registration internship training and assessment in approved hospitals or institutions. Eighteen International School graduates who majored in clinical medicine had passed the Council's Licensing Examination as of December 2016.
The International School focuses on non-mainland students' career planning and development. With help from alumni, the school established a branch to help Hong Kong students pass the Council's licensing examination. Training, seminars and experience exchange meetings are held regularly. In 2015 and 2016, more than 400 students and alumni attended.
