A JNU delegation led by Vice President Hong An met with Huang Zhihao, secretary of Foshan's Nanhai District; Zhang Jingwen, a member of the District Standing Committee; and Wu Cicheng, deputy district head, in Nanhai District on Nov. 9 and made field trips related to further collaboration.

Hong said the visit's main purposes were to establish a cooperation mechanism and to promote concrete cooperation. According to the development needs of Nanhai District, JNU put forward such ideas of cooperation in science, technology and education as mutual employment of talents, achievement transformation, base construction of entrepreneurship and innovation, and technology exchange and start-up financing with the property rights center of Guangdong Financial High-Tech Zone.
Huang said Nanhai District, facing a new trend of technology industry development, was significantly advancing such leading projects as the Robot Integrated Innovation Center on the west bank of the Pearl River, the Global Product Crossover Innovation Center, and a New City for the Global Makers. Foshan would step up its efforts to build Nanhai district into the core of the Guangzhou-Foshan metropolitan circle, the Pearl River Delta's entrepreneurial center for nationwide excellent youth talents, and an accumulation area for global makers. Huang said he hoped that Foshan could cooperate with JNU to promote rapid development of both sides by taking advantage of JNU's science and technology innovation and its resources under the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
The two sides further discussed specific items including construction of a research institute, mutual appointment of talents, hospital cooperation, deepening cooperation in finance, base construction of mass entrepreneurship and innovation, construction of technology transfer center, and construction of guildhalls both in Nanhai District and overseas. They also set up a leading group and made plans for the next step.

The delegation made field trips to the AIA financial center, a creative community of spatial art and the Fengshu International Financial Corporation. They also discussed site selection for collaborative programs.
