The donation ceremony of the Zhang-Yuanyuan Incentive Fund for Economics Innovation was held at the College of Economics on November 11. Lu Runting, an alumnus of the College who established Goldpac, the biggest intelligent card manufacturing empire in China, donated 2 million yuan to support talent training and academic communication in economics at JNU. Vice President Song Xianzhong awarded Lu a donation certificate, and Liu Shaobo, the dean of College of Economics, accepted the donation on behalf of JNU.
Song added that Lu, who entered JNU in 1984, felt deeply grateful to Professor Zhang Yuanyuan and other senior professors who had taught him at the College of Economics. Aiming to pass on his teacher's spirit and encourage teachers and students in the college to dedicate to scientific research and improve innovation ability, Lu established the fund, which he said he expects to keep growing and expanding.
Lu said this fund aims at carrying forward the spirit of dedication that senior teachers like Professor Zhang and mid-career professors in the College of Economics, from whom he learned a great deal that contributed to his achievements. He also delivered a distinguished lecture on Economy Leading Global Development, sharing his experience in finance, business and study.
