“2016 Jinan University Orthopaedic BBS” was held in Shenzhen on February 20-21, which was jointly hosted by orthopaedic disease research institute of our school and the first affiliated hospital and undertaken by Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Hospital affiliated to our University. Hospital orthopedic experts and the backbones gathered to carry out the relevant academic exchange and training in our school. Shenzhen overseas Chinese hospital donated 1 million RMB during the period to set up the Qiao’ai Fund for orthopedics disease institute for supporting personnel training and scientific research in our orthopedic disease research institute.

Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the party committee of our university, on behalf of our school's education development foundation and Liao Zhiren, Shenzhen overseas Chinese hospital chairman jointly signed the donation agreement.

Lin Rupeng fully affirmed the achievements of cooperation in recent years, and spoke highly of the contributions to set up the “institute of jinan university orthopaedic disease Chinese love fund”. He hoped that the orthopaedic disease research institute should not only focus on the innovation in basic thought and theory and frontier science and technology, to carry out frontier cooperation with top universities and research institutions both in China and abroad, but should also based on the service for overseas Chinese, adhered to innovative enterprise cooperation, committed to innovative scientific research personnel training, contributed to the strategy of innovation driven development.
Huang Li, director of the First Affiliated Hospital, said that they would step up cooperation with Shenzhen overseas Chinese Hospital on talent training, technology, research and other aspects.
“Qiao Ai Foundation will inject new energy for the Research Institute of Orthopedic Diseases, it will be beneficial for personnel training and scientific research development in the next three years, and inspire the majority of researchers,” said by Zha zhengang, the director of the Research Institute of Orthopedic Diseases ,and he expressed that, under supervision of school leaders and Education Development Foundation, the research institute would obey the donors’ wishes and the use principles of ‘open and fair, expert review, preferential support, earmarking’ ,strictly. The fund must put to good use. At the same time, the Institute would invite relevant scholars inside and outside of our university to research and explore for continuously improving ability of scientific research personnel training and related training system.

The Research Institute of Orthopedic Diseases was established in September 2010, set up by the First Affiliated Hospital’s department of orthopedics, College of life science and technology and College of science and Engineering. In December 2015, the Research Institute of Orthopedic Diseases and shenzhen overseas Chinese hospital signed an agreement of technical cooperation, which gave full play to our orthopaedic expert team’s strength, and supported shenzhen overseas Chinese hospital’s characteristic specialized subject construction.
