According to a name list publicized by ministry of Human Resources & Social Security of the People”s Republic of China, which is about the experts being selected into the Hundreds & Thousands Talents Project, Professor Zhou Zhen of our university has been selected into the Project. Up till now, there have been 14 professors of our university selected for the Hundreds and Thousand Talents Project.

Professor Zhou Zhen, currently the director of “Institute of Atmospheric environmental safety and Pollution Control”, has been focused on the researcch of mass spectrometry and its application for more than 20 years. He was selected for the Thousands Project in 2009 and selected for the Hundred Talent Project of Guangdong Province in 2013. 

The Hundreds & Thousands Talent Project was implemented to gear to the national science and technological planning and to the need of economic and social development. It is an important measure for China to turn out talents to meet the new century’s challenge. The project focused on the selection of talents engaged in world-class cutting-edge research, able to lead and organize important scientific programs. The project was officially launched in 1995, jointly carried out by 7 national departments, including the National scientific and technological commission, National Education Commission, etc, and its name was changed into New Century Hundreds & Thousands Talents Project.
