A play "Kang Youwei & Liang Qichao", which won the first prize of the 12th Guangdong was performed in our university as a new session of our Centennial Hall, a series activity held in our university. More than 30 actors from Foshan Cantonese Opera House presented a wonderful story, of which the time span is 37-year long. On the two days, namely December 1and 2, a total of more than 3,000 teachers and students came to watch play,  witnessing  Kang and Liang pupil-teacher ardent love towards our nation and their pursue towards their dream that has inspired generations of Chinese after them .

The story started from the first time the two main characters of the play, Kang, the teacher and Liang, the student met and got to know each other in Wanmu Cottage in Guangzhou in the autumn of 1890, showing the whole process they met, they conflicted with other and they departed from each other, telling the audience their different thought on national salvation, letting the audience feel their deep concern for the fate of patriotism. The drama presented to the audience the famous historic events such as "Gongche Shangshu Movement (a movement initiated by successful candidates of the Imperial exam to jointly submitted lever to the emperor in Qing Dynasty)", "Hundred Days Reform", "Xinhai Revolution" et al and many other historical events greatly influenced the fate of China at that time. The lines were tragic and moving,  and the performances were vivid, as if the audience heard the history echo of a hundred years ago. Tan Sitong called for "Reform can not stop" on the eve before he was as arrested; Kang and Liang shouted together "May juvenile China rebirth as sun-like" at the end of the play; all the scenes made the audience think attentively, when actors curtain call, thunderous applause burst out.

《Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao》 created and performed by the Foshan cantonese opera school (Foshan cantonese opera House). The script was written since 2011, and was assessed as provincial "key play" by the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, Provincial Department of Culture. The play obtained outstanding repertoire First prize, Outstanding Performance Award, Outstanding Screenplay Award, Best Director Award, Outstanding Stage Art Award, ten awards in the 12th Guangdong Provincial Art Festival, boarded the 14th China Drama Festival, received a positive response in tour around the country.

·As the producer of the drama, president of Cantonese Opera Academy of Foshan Li Shuqin said Kang and Liang were the most outstanding scholars, thinkers, pioneers of reform in Lingnan local in the end of the Qing Dynasty, they pioneer,fearless spirit were worthy of admiration by posterity "the whole drama put patriotism as a creative theme , hoping to guide the audience to establish and adhere to a correct view of history, ethnicity, and culture."
