On November 15th, the 110th anniversary celebration launching ceremony was held in the great hall of our university. The beginning of the celebration activities such as the world-wide collection of “Story of Jinan People Around the World” and omnimedia coverage plan was also announced along with the launching ceremony.

Celebrities and principals present on the ceremony included Mr. Ma Youheng, vice chariman of the board of the trustees of our university, Mr. Ye Huiquan, member of the board of trustees, Mr. Zhang Dongmingour alumnus, editor in chief of the Southern Newspaper Media Group and President of the Southern Daily News Agency China, Mr. Zhang Jianyue Guangdong Bureau chief, party secretary, Mr. Lin Hengyi, our alumnus and Malaysia and Datuk total business association, Mr. Yan Zunhui our manager, the first Chinese Chamber of Commerce honorary president Yan Tongzhen's son, City Bank Group Chairman Liu Suilong etc. There were also president and vice presidents of our university as well as alumni from all over the world etc. The ceremony was presided over by Lin Rupeng.

Hu Jun said in his speech that the present day was the the 109th anniversary of the of the founding of the our university and also the homecoming day and "30th anniversary of graduation" of grade 85 alumni. He said that the preparatory work for the 110th anniversary would be an energy demanding task and in the coming one-year, there were some many achievements we must display and much experience, thought and love from the alumni we must share, and there were too many beautiful vision, and plan we needed to write. He also expressed, this Celebration is an activity of showing gratitude, miss, respect, responsibility; by organizing the celebration,we service for support, we make accomplishment for recognition and we make contribution for development; we also build up good social image, to attract more attention and investment and support from the government departments at all levels, alumni and people from all walks of life.

Mr. Mayou Hen said on the ceremony that Jinan University had turned out more than 300,000 talents for from 160 countries, and three regions Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, we could proudly say that where is the sea ,where is the Jinan people. He also expressed that alumni, is more than our most precious resource, but also the important carrier of the reputation of Jinan University, and an important manifestation of Jinan spirit and the university and our alumni association were more and more aware of the importance of the role of alumni in university’s development. He called for global Jinan alumni to contribute their part for the 110th anniversary celebration.

Anniversary Logo and subject officially unveiled

At the launch ceremony, Mr. Jiang Shuzhuo, vice president of our university publicized 110th  anniversary celebration logo and the celebration of keywords.
Earlier in March this year, the university made an announcement to collect 110th anniversary logo and received a total of more than 240 pieces of design. Eventually, the logo designed by Ma Chunchun, graduate student from School of Economics et al, was adopted.

Jiang Shuzhuo said that the logo integrates two elements a numeral 110 and a sailing boat. Sailing boat is derived from our school badge elements, indicating the excellent Chinese culture spread to five continents universal. The hull with spray flying echoes, carrying Jinan wind and waves, courageously forward 110 years ago, but also reflects my school "for overseas, for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan," the school policy. Red part, the dragon dance style and fit Jinan elements represent under "faithful Piety" motto spiritual guidance of young students sunshine and vitality, but also highlights the Jinan Spirit and life in a new phase. .

The celebration of the 110th anniversary of keywords is: "high- level university dream, and better future". Mr Jiang shuzhuo said that we were in the critical stage of the high level university construction, " high level dream”reflects the common dream of the teachers and students alike and their resolution to seize the historic opportunity to upgrade our university. “Better future” means that all overseas department of Jinan human alma mater, forge ahead for the better future of Jinan University.

JNU accepts donation of 6.3 million RMB

on the ceremony, Ye Huiquan on behalf of Jinan investment group to donate 1 million yuan for the university on innovation and entrepreneurship education. Mr Zheng Yintu, Kekang medical group chairman and a philanthropist, personally donated 1 million yuan for the University’s development and infrastructural construction. The family of Professor Fu Jiamo, Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician and Guangzhou Hexin Analysis Instrument donated 0.3million RMB to set up, the Fu Jiamo scholarship. They also donated experimental equipment worth 4 million RMB to the atmospheric environment safety and Pollution Control Research Institute at the same time. Mr. Hu Jun, president of our university accepted the donation, on behalf of our university land donated to the donor certificate.

In addition, Lin Rupeng also announced the establishment of “Mongolia Yurt”-- student canteen reconstruction fund, which would be used for the reconstruction of student canteen in South campus. Chinese Business Forum to booster 110 anniversary celebration

 “one Belt and one Road" Chinese Business Management Forum was held after the inauguration. The Forum chaired by Professor Zhang Yaohui School of Management.

Our alumni Mr. Liang Haiming, Mr. Lin Hengyi, and Mr. Tang Dajie, and Professor Ye Maolin, from Management school gave lectures on the forum. The topics their speeches covered included “the Belt and Road " strategy of China, " the Belt and Road " strategic conception of Guangdong, economic development of the countries along the Silk Road, etc .

The forum, which jointly promoted by General Alumni Association of Jinan University and the Management School, aims to build Chinese business management education platform and investment platform to promote our school School of Management Chinese entrepreneur education. ,

As the first overseas Chinese university established by the state, Jinan University will usher in the 110th birthday next year. On November 15th this year, the university held the launching ceremony, on which 110th anniversary celebration logo and subject also unveiled for the first time.

The office received more than 240 pieces of design before the deadline.
