The first Reformation, Transformation and Growth Forum was held on November 7th to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the College of Economics. The forum was jointly undertaken by our university, Moscow National University, Corvinus university of Budapest and Belgrade Asia Research Center and Belgrade Political Research Center etc. About 150 scholars from 7 countries and districts attended the forum, including Professor Lai Shengde, dean of School of Management of Beijing Normal University, Professor Liu Shaobo, dean of College of Economics of our university etc. The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Liu Dexue, deputy dean of College of Economics.
The themes of the forum were international regional collaboration and China’s “One Belt and One Road” Strategy. Scholars from China, Russia, Hungary, German, Italy, Turkey and Hong Kong etc discussed experiences and lessons to learn on transition economy, Economic Growth & Economic Restructuring, Regional Economic Cooperation, “One Belt, One Road Strategy”, the further development of China in Market Reform and mechanism establishment etc. Sixteen scholars gave lectures on the forum.
Professor Liu Shaobo delivered a brief introduction to the development of our university and College of Economy on the opening ceremony and said that the theme of the current forum was not only a common issue the countries of the 4 holders of the forum have to face, but also a problem the world had to face, and to study this theme was globally significant. He also said with so many scholars to study together on this issue would surely generate many valuable achievements.
Several professors, who were Professor Vladimir Kapitsyn, from Moscow National University and Professor Dragana Mitrovic, from Belgrade Asia Research Center and Belgrade Political Research Center and Professor Balazs Hamori from Corvinus university of Budapest gave lectures on the forum introducing their own universities and extending their congratulations for the successful holding of the forum.
After the opening ceremony, scholars presented to the audience a feast of academic lectures. Professor Lai Shengde shared his research on the impace of China’s labour market structure on creation and innovation; he said that under the “New Normal” situation, economic development should observe law of market economy. Prof. Balazs Hamori had a review to the economic reform in Hungary and tried to find out the system defect and restriction toward reform.
Scholars of our university also gave excellent lectures such as “Survice Industrial Growth in Transitional China” by associate professor Zhong Yun, College of Economy, “Potential Impacts of China’s Belt and Road Initiative on Its Bilateral Trade” by associate professor Pu Hualin, “Institutional Change, Foreign Shareholders and Chinese Listed Firms Volatility” by Mr. Li Haisheng.
