October 12, president Hu Jun et al met with Duan Xiannian, the general manager of OCT Group, and discussed with him on cooperation between the two parties. Mr. Du Jinmin, director of Development and Planning, Mr. Li Guangmingexecutive president of the Shenzhen Tourism College, Cheng Bin, party secretary, Zeng Hui, director of OCT Group President Office, deputy director Liu Hong attended the meeting.
The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on cooperation agreement, Shenzhen Tourism College Faculty Committee’s adjustment, campus expansion of the college and faculty housing, and reached a consensus on the cooperation about tourism culturalfrontier problem research and personnel training.
Also, Mr. Hu Jun expressed heartful thanks to OCT Group for the consistent support to our school and Shenzhen Tourism College, he said that the reason for Shenzhen Tourism College being a leading school in the domestic tourism education was due to its close cooperation with the OCT Group. When Mr. Duan Xiannian gave a speech, he extended a warm welcome to Hu Jun's visit, and was fully affirmative of the unique contribution of our school and Shenzhen tourism college to group diversification development and even of Shenzhen cultural tourism industry.
Later, Mr. Hu Jun steered to Tourism School of Shenzhen to do special research on a high-level university development. Li Guangming reported the college’s strategy and main measures of constructing a high-level university. Mr. Hu Jun said that school could make good use of this opportunity to ugradge the school and build close contact with main campus; also, the introduction of high-level personnel was imperative and old mindset should be broken so as to make progress; it was necessary that we should form a team led by professor in the existing teachers. The job of building a high-level university covered many perspectives said Mr. Hu Jun, teaching and talent training was an important one of these perspectives and Shenzhen Tourism School stood out amony its peers because of its excellent undergrduate eduction, and what should be done in the future was to focus more on its own advantage in education and make it a brand of the college.
