Jinan University in Guangzhou, China is seeking applicants for teaching positions at the College of Pharmacy with the anticipated start time of August 1, 2022.

Essential duties and responsibilities.  These include, but are not limited to:

•Be an engaging teacher, adviser, and mentor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, typically offering one or two courses per semester.

•Engage in activities to support inclusive excellence.

•Participate actively in the development of curricula.

•Engage in service to the College, University, and profession.

Qualification Requirement

For Medical Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacy and Structural Pharmacology:

1) Elite Talents

Candidates should: 

•be a full-time professor in a prominent domestic/overseas  university or research institute.

•lead or keep pace with disciplinary development trends in their research fields nationally or worldwide.

•be available to work in the College of Pharmacy for more than 9 months each year during the employment.

•be no more than 50 years old.

•2) Leading Talents

•Candidates should:

•hold the position of associate professor (or equivalent titles) in well-known domestic/overseas university or research institutes. Outstanding postdoctoral fellows are also eligible. 

•be able to independently carry out relevant research and teaching, working full-time in the College of Pharmacy.

•be no more than 42 years old.

The College of Pharmacy at Jinan University was founded in April 2001. The College has three departments (Pharmacy, Traditional Chinese Medicines(TCM) and Biopharmaceutics), eleven research institutes and one experimental teaching center. Currently, the College has established nine ministerial/ provincial teaching and research platforms, including International Cooperative Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization and Innovative Drug Development of Chinese Ministry of Education, Guangdong Province Key Laboratory of Pharmacodynamic Constituents of TCM and New Drugs Research. Two National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Projects were authorized successively. The undergraduate majors of Pharmacy and Traditional Chinese Medicines were selected as national first-class. Pharmacy was also selected as a national Double First-Class discipline by the Ministry of Education. In 2021, Pharmacy ranked 7th (top 5%) among universities in China by Soft Science China University Rankings.

The College now has one post-doctoral research station in Traditional Chinese Medicines, one each of doctoral degree authorization point for the first-level discipline of Pharmacy and the second-level discipline of Pharmacy Management, one master degree authorization point for the first-level discipline of Pharmacy, and two professional master degree authorization points for Pharmaceutical Engineering and Pharmacy. There are four undergraduate programs in Pharmacy within Traditional Chinese Medicines, Biopharmaceuticals, and Clinical Pharmacy. A full English taught undergraduate program in Pharmacy is also conducted in the International School at Jinan University.

The College has more than 150 full-time faculty members with 58 professors and 56 associate professors, including 48 doctoral supervisors and 102 master supervisors. Currently, the College has 4 academicians, including the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Royal Australian Academy of Sciences, 27 national talents and 42 provincial and ministerial talents.
