Introduction of reporter:
Professor Tim Li is a tenured doctoral supervisor at the University of Hawaii. His research interests focus on the areas of climate dynamics, ocean-atmosphere interaction, global climate change, typhoon dynamics and numerical simulation. Prof. Li has published about 300 papers in major journals in the field of climate at home and abroad, which were cited more than 10,000 times. He was selected to the The Recruitment Program of Global Experts of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, and obtained financial support from The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Not only did he serve as the chief scientist of the National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 program) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, but was also chosen as the leading talent of the Dual Initiative team of Jiangsu province. Besides, he is a member of Climate Variability and Predictability Programme (CLIVAR), an expert of scientific advisory group of the Desert Research Institute of United States, a member of the scientific advisory group of the Busan Climate Center of APEC and a special expert of the China Meteorological Administration. Prof. Li also serves as responsible editor in some top journals such as Journal of Climate, Earth Science Reviews, Dynamics of Atmospheres and -Oceans, and Journal of Meteorological Research .
