Introduction to speaker : Yuan Libo, born in November 1962, he is the professor and doctoral supervisor of Guilin University of Electronic Technology, member of China Optical Society, director of China Optical Engineering Society and Technical Program Committee(TPC) member of International Fiber Optic Sensor Conference. He is the chairman in the Technical Program Committee(TPC) of the International Conference on Optical Fibre Sensors(OFS-25), Deputy Director and Standing Committee member of Fiber and Integrated Optics Committee of China Optical Society, Deputy Director and Standing Committee member of Optoelectronic Technology Committee of China Optical Society, he is also the Executive Vice Chairman of Optical Fiber Sensing Technology Expert Working Committee of China Optical Engineering Society and of China Optical Fiber Sensing Technology and Industry Innovation Alliance.
Prof. Yuan received his Bachelor of Science degree from Department of Physics in Heilongjiang University in 1984 and Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Circuit and System in College of Shipbuilding Engineering, Harbin Engineering University in 1990. In 2003, he graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and obtained his Doctor degree. He received Special government allowances of the State Council, an incentive system for technical talents, in 1997. Yuan also won the third Outstanding Young Teachers Award of the Ministry of Education in 2002 and was selected as the national candidate of The New Century Talents Project in 2006.
Prof. Yuan has presided over more than 30 projects including the development program of national key scientific instruments, the National Key Scientific Instrument and Equipment Development Project, preliminary special work of the 973 National Program, National 863 Plan of China, Key Program for International Cooperation Projects of MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology), projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other key projects. He has been awarded First Prize of Natural Science, First Prize of Technological Invention Award and Second Prize of Technology Progress in Heilongjiang province. He has published more than 260 academic papers in SCI journals and three academic monographs. He has also been granted more than 150 national authorized patents of invention and technology.
