About WEI TIE:

Wei Tie, born in Hubei province in China in 1979, is a contemporary film director. He achieved a master’s degree of Beijing Film Academy in 2006 and worked as a lecturer of film studies in Art College of JNU. He has produced works such as the film Amazing China, the fiction short film Huangshi Avenue, the documentary film People of Yangtze and School, and the feature film Distance. His works have been selected for Busan International Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Munich International Documentary Film Festival, São Paulo International Film Festival and CINÉMA DU RÉEL (France International Documentary Film Festival).

Abstract:

Amazing China, put on March 2nd，has received an overwhelming response in China for its grand narrative structure, deep spirit and sentimental story, which inspire national confidence in the pursuit of Chinese dream. Wei Tie, the director and professor of JNU's art college, will lecture this week on how he transfer the attachment to the homeland to its audience and how thousands of commoners to work hard to make China great again. During the lecture, Prof.Wei would share his personal learning experience and the story behind the film production. Wait in expectation!
