ABOUT ZHOU FANG-YUN

Zhou Fang-yun is a professor at the Sichuan Normal University; the Vice Chairman of Sichuan Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature Research Institute; the Chairman of Chengdu Public Condition Research Institute, and advanced worker in teaching in Sichuan colleges and universities. She has published many monographs including A Study on the Tragic Women’s Image in Chinese Modern Literature. 

ABSTRACT

This lecture will start with the story of Lin Huiyin - Chinese national emblem's designer by introducing her great achievements in protecting Chinese ancient buildings and the little-known story in the process of designing Chinese national emblem, and praising her strong patriotism in hard times, which reveals Lin as a fortitudinous woman; meanwhile, the lecture will explain Lin's friendship with Xu Zhimo, the affection between Jin Yuelin and her, and the love between Liang Sicheng and her.

To date, Prof. Zhou's lectures on Lin Huiyin are offered in more than 400 libraries nationwide and enter more than 300 colleges and universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Nankai University and Wuhan University, with its audience in excess of 300,000.
