ABOUT YU JIAN-SHE
Professor Yu Jianshe is now vice chairman and party member of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference. He has been the representative of the 12th National People's Congress of Guangdong Province, the alternate member of the 10th session of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee, the representative of the 9th, 10th and 11th Party Congress in Guangzhou, the representative of the 13th National People's Congress and the 13th CPPCC members in Guangzhou. He was also vice president and director of Applied Mathematics Department of Hunan University, vice president and Standing Committee member of Party Committee of Hunan University, secretary of Party Committee and director of Guangzhou University, director of Chinese Mathematical Society, vice chairman of Provincial Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics of Guangdong Province, National Teaching Steering Committee member, and the editor of 6 academic journals editorial board like Advances in Difference Equations、Ann.Diff.Equ. He won the State Council special allowance, became the first and second level talents in national millions talent project, top 10 news figure in Hunan province, the national model worker, the young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution in the national education system, the ministry of education, cross-century talent and gained young teachers in colleges and universities award honored by the Ministry of Education.

He was mainly engaged in ordinary differential equation, functional differential equation and the theory and application research of discrete system, and he has solved the problems of many famous public difficulties and conjectures. He successively presided over 2 key projects of national natural science foundation, the special foundation of the Ministry of Science and Technology major studies in the earlier research, and a fund program of national outstanding youth. He successively won the provincial scientific and technological progress award the first, second and third prize for 2 times respectively, the first prize of national teaching achievement award, and 2 first prize of provincial teaching achievement.
