Established in 1993 and officially opening its doors in 1996, the Shenzhen Tourism College (STC) is one of the graduate education bases on Jinan's Shenzhen campus. It is the first college in mainland China to obtain the World Tourism Organization TedQual Certification, with its brand program Tourism Management being recognized at the provincial level.

The college is proud of its outstanding facilities and high-level educational platforms, including the National Experiment Teaching Center (Economy Management) and Provincial Experiment Teaching Center (Tourism Management). It also jointly hosts a post-doctoral innovation practice base and a national education base for talent for the high-end service industry with the support of the OCT (Organizing, Communication and Technology) Group, one of the top eight tourism companies in the world.

Engaging in multiple industries covering tourism, finance, communication, logistics, convention and exhibition, e-commerce, art design and cultural creativity, alumni have been quite popular in the job market and are highly appreciated by their employers for their all-around performance. The Shenzhen Tourism College has initiated international exchange and cooperation programs with universities worldwide, including Pennsylvania State University, the Tourism College of Temple University, Brigham Young University, the University of Hawaii, the University of Nevada -Las Vegas, the University of Birmingham, the University of Sheffield, Elmwood College and Hong Kong
