The College of Electrical and Information Engineering (CEIE) at Jinan University was founded in August 2010 by integrating previous departments, including the Packaging Engineering Institute, the Electrical Automation Institute, and the Computer Department and Mathematics Section of the Basic Course Department. Its mission is talent cultivation and scientific research in electrical engineering, packaging engineering, computer science and technology, and electronic information science and technology. The Laboratory of Packaging Engineering and the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering each qualified as a Zhuhai Public Laboratory in 2006 and 2008, respectively. The Key Laboratory of Product Packaging and Logistics was authorized as the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory in 2010. Relying on the developments and achievements of the Zhuhai campus in infrastructure, faculty management standards and discipline basis, CEIE's organizational structure and management regulations are being perfected. At present, the college's whole management framework and system is consistent with that of JNU's main campus, laying a good foundation for its future development.
