College of Life Science and Technology
The College of Life Science and Technology was founded in May 1999, consisting of one department and one center. Today the college is home to one National Engineering Center (National Engineering Research Center for Genetic Engineering Drugs), two Ministry of Education enters (Center for Genomic Medicine, Center for Tropical and Subtropical Water Ecology), one Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education (Key Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine), five Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratories (of Bioengineering Medicine, Eutrophication and Red Tide Prevention, Functional Protein Research, Molecular Immunology and Antibody Engineering, and Biological Materials).
The college also has a national key discipline (aquatic biology), four Guangdong provincial key disciplines (biology, chemistry, ecology, biomedical engineering), and a key discipline (immunology) of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council.
