College of Science and Engineering
In 1929, the National Jinan University established the College of Science. In February 1985, after the university was re-founded in Guangzhou and created the College of Science and Engineering. The college currently has five departments, three research institutes, two research centers and two research academies. The engineering and material science majors are ranked in the top 1% in the world by Essential Science Indicators (ESI). The college’s main path of development is heading toward public safety, new functional materials and optoelectronic information engineering. The college attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation. It has scientific research cooperation with more than 20 universities and institutions from more than 10 countries or regions in Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas. The college has established international joint laboratories, including the Sino-US International Joint Laboratory for Urban Lifeline Structural Research and the Jinan University-Saskachewan University Bio Oil Refining and Nutrition Joint Laboratory.
